Chronic Stress

Nobody has ever been exempted from stress. While it is usually viewed as a negative thing, a little bit of it actually makes us more alert, more focused, and more energetic. Thats what is known as good stress. Bad stress, on the other hand, is the more common type of stress. Either way, stress is never unavoidable. Because of this, it is treated by some as a normal part of our lives. But high stress levels leads to both physical and mental breakdowns. This is called chronic stress.

Since experiencing stress is generally considered normal what makes chronic stress any different? In order to answer this question we need to delve deep into the machinations of chronic stress. Chronic stress is defined as the brains continuous response to unpleasant events for a prolonged period over which an individual perceives it has no control.

Chronic stress is a development of stress when the brain has little chance to relax in a long period of time that it is exposed to stressors. By nature, we can handle acute stress but not chronic stress. Note that each individual has different stressors and stress levels. But prolonged exposure to stressors eventually causes us to break down.

So how will you know when you are experiencing or on the verge or experiencing chronic stress? You will be able to tell the difference between acute and chronic stress by observing your symptoms. Chronic stress is mainly characterized by symptoms such as; upset stomach, headache, backache, insomnia, anxiety, depression, anger, weight loss/gain, and hypertension. In severe cases chronic stress can lead to panic attacks or a panic disorder and can also play a role in worsening depression and cardiovascular disease, plus make us look way older than we really are.

Chronic stress basically develops from all the stress and stressors that we face everyday. Constant problems with the boss, colleagues, or with the workplace itself, family problems, financial problems, and whatnot lead to stress. If these problems go on for a long period of time, it results to chronic stress. The first step in handling stress is to identify each stressor so you can deal with them one by one.

It is important that you take the time to know everything about chronic stress and how you will be able to handle it. If you find that you have chronic stress dont waste any time in finding a solution. The good thing about this condition is that, there a lots of easy to learn techniques out there that will be able to help you out. Some you can learn by enrolling and some you can learn by yourself. Some requiring you to practice and some will only require you to laugh, because the good thing about chronic stress is that you dont need to go far and pay much in order to get better. Learning to control your fast paced life for example wont require you to pay a dime and can give you more benefits than you can imagine.
