Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD is a behavioral disorder. It can cause impulsive actions, hyperactivity and the inability to focus or concentrate.

ADHD can affect both children and adults. To really understand what is ADHD you have to uncover the symptoms, the effects and the way it is treated.

The Signs

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder symptoms can be confusing because many of the warning signs are simply normal behaviors that kids shows in childhood. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder can very much affect the person’s life. For a child, it can cause bad grades as well as discipline troubles in school, and it also cause disturbances in families.

In adults, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder can cause troubles with work and family life. A patient with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder can make careless troubles, may not complete tasks as well as organizational skills.

Therapy

Handling of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder usually involves prescription. One thing that is most used by doctors to treat a person with ADHD is stimulants. The stimulants can cause a reverse affect in patients with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and help calm them down.

Treatment is also used to help the disorder and their family learns to work with warning signs and recognizing what is ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

As you can see it can be difficult to say exactly what is ADHD. However, for those suffering from it or those who have a loved with it, ADHD can cause many issues and is very real.

There is a lot of controversy surrounding the disorder, but through constant study and research more and more is being discovered every day.
